Empowering Veterans through the Healing Power of Service Dogs

Service dogs are more than companionship – they offer independence, emotional support, and a renewed sense of purpose for veterans facing challenges such as PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and mobility limitations. Through our trusted nonprofit partners, we help connect veterans with highly trained K9’s who are ready to serve those who have served our nation.

K-9 for Warriors

K9s for Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of trained service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and trauma. Their program not only saves veterans’ lives but also rescues dogs from shelters, giving both a second chance at life.

Pets for Vets

Pets for Vets matches rescued animals with veterans, creating powerful bonds that help heal emotional wounds and ease the transition to civilian life. Each pairing is carefully chosen and supported with training to ensure a lasting, positive impact for both the veteran and the pet.

Mission K-9 Rescue (also known as Project K-9 Hero)

Mission K9 Rescue is dedicated to saving working dogs from military and contract services, reuniting them with their handlers or finding them loving homes. Their work honors the loyalty and sacrifice of these K9s while providing invaluable companionship to veterans.

National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV)

The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as a resource and technical assistance center for a national network of community-based service providers and local, state, and federal agencies. They offer emergency and supportive housing, food, health services, job training and placement assistance, legal aid, and case management support for homeless veterans.

Veterans on the Rise

Veterans on the Rise (VOTR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a holistic system of care to combat veteran homelessness in the greater Washington, D.C. area. Their mission is rooted in the belief that no military veteran should be homeless in the shadow of national monuments and memorials built to honor their service. VOTR offers comprehensive support, including housing assistance, employment services, and community reintegration programs, aiming to empower veterans to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Homeless Veterans of America (HVA)

Homeless Veterans of America (HVA) is a nonprofit organization committed to serving and supporting veterans and their families across the United States. Recognizing the sacrifices made by veterans, HVA provides essential resources to those left without shelter or support after their service. Their programs focus on offering affordable housing, temporary shelter, and comprehensive support services to help veterans transition back into stable and productive lives.

Stop Soldier Suicide

Stop Soldier Suicide is the only national nonprofit organization exclusively focused on reducing military and veteran suicide. Founded by veterans in 2010, it provides free, confidential, and personalized care to service members and veterans from every branch and generation—regardless of discharge status.

Cohens Veteran Network

Cohen Veterans Network is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality mental health care to veterans and their families. Through its network of clinics, it offers evidence-based treatment for conditions such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

Platoon 22

Platoon 22 is a Maryland-based nonprofit that serves veterans, first responders, and their families. Its mission is to end veteran suicide by addressing barriers to successful military transition. The organization provides care coordination and health navigation services, bringing community providers together to offer essential programs and services.
